The origins of this was from some of my readings I’ve had of world war 1, Bosnian War and also Romeo Dallaires ‘Shake Hands with the Devil”.   The idea of an area burning or being decimated and a mass exodus of any group from any time period. This struck me always as extremely sad and depressing but I also found that there was a sense of freedom.  The mass exodus forced people to change their lives in such a sudden and visceral way it provided them freedom.  Their shapes are not formed because they are exiting their past and shaping themselves into their future.
